April 2024: The tenant house is likely Mid-1800s construction and housed the last cook and caretaker, Mrs. Thomas until the 1960s. We would like to keep this building in good condition, at present, two exterior walls are approaching 'fair' condition as exterior boards are rotting due to weathering. Please consider sponsoring this project by choosing the West or North Wall and noting that on your donation. Once complete we plan to work adding this building to our tours, along with additional signage inside. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMAGES OF TENANT HOUSE.
In March 2024 we have had to replace front and back porch steps due to general wear and tear. Please consider helping us re-coop these funds as this simple maintenance is over $1,400 dollars. Donate anytime via PayPal @OakleyPark
Thank you for your support by aid or word of mouth in appreciating this special place. We are approaching 190th birthday of the building next year and planning an event. Contact us to sponsor or volunteer! 803-215-9798
In March 2024 Oakley Park hosted a community Easter Egg Hunt with close to 300 people in attendance. We love supporting our community. Edgefield churches, small businesses and local government all came together to provide a free event for local families. A good day was enjoyed by all in attendance.
REASEARCH LIBRARY: In Fall 2022 we had a generous donation of 320 books on Confederate history, enabling us to establish a research library. Please consider donating books to our library. In 2023 we have received an additional 60 books. Please help us with this research collection by considering donating a bookcase or funds towards this collection.
A friend donated a small light weight vacuum that is very helpful to our volunteers.
A number of beautiful porcelain dolls were donated for the museum to display or sell as deemed appropriate.
A Friend of the museum recently donated a 6-CD sound system with speakers and sub-woofer to provide an outstanding musical experience of period music for events and tours.

Three dresses have been donated for our docents.
A drop-leaf antique table has been donated for use at the museum.
